Term 2
Research Project
You will complete a research project about World War I or
the 1920s. You will write a 3 to 4 page essay about your topic and
post it on our website. By the time our class is done with this
project, we will house an excellent student-created resource for other
students of US history to begin their research.
During this project you will learn to:
- Select an appropriate topic
- Evaluate information
critically and competently
- Access information efficiently
(time) and effectively (sources)
- Manage the flow of information
from a wide variety of sources
- Use information accurately and
creatively for the issue or problem at hand
- Apply a fundamental
understanding of the ethical/legal issues surrounding the access and use
of information
For this project you must save to your digital portfolio and hand in
the following:
- Complete each step of the
research process by their deadlines. The research paper is a
process. To enforce this, I will not accept materials after their
deadline.
- Hand in the following
- Step 1: Research House
(10pts)
- Step 4: Five note card
sheets from five different sources (50pts)
- Step 5: Final CSD3R
House (10pts)
- Step 5: 3-4 page rough
draft of your paper and your works cited page (50 pts)
- Step 6: 3-4 page final
draft of your paper and your works cited page (200 pts)
- Step 6: Project review
